Opportunity description
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has opened applications for a 12-month volunteering opportunity in Tunis, Tunisia, for the position of Project Assistant under the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program, with the possibility of extension.
The opportunity is part of the Justice Outcome 3 project, which aims to support justice sector reform, strengthen the rule of law, and improve citizens’ access to justice services in Tunisia. The volunteer will provide administrative, operational, and logistical support to the project, coordinate with government institutions and partners, help monitor the implementation of activities, prepare documents and reports, and support the organization of meetings and workshops.
This opportunity offers practical experience in development project management and the chance to work with one of the leading United Nations agencies in a multidisciplinary professional environment focused on governance, justice, human rights, and digital transformation.

Selected candidates will receive:
- A monthly living allowance of TND 1,879.74.
- An entry lump-sum allowance of USD 350.

Duties & responsibilities
The volunteer will contribute to:
- Supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of justice project activities.
- Organizing meetings, workshops, training sessions, and field missions.
- Preparing and organizing administrative and technical documents and meeting reports.
- Following up on contracts, procurement requests, payments, and financial documents.
- Collecting and organizing data required for reporting and monitoring project results.
- Coordinating daily with partners, consultants, and implementing entities.
- Managing and archiving the project’s electronic documents and files.
- Carrying out other administrative and operational tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Be Tunisian citizens, legal residents, or individuals with recognized refugee status in Tunisia.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration, law, political science, international relations, governance, social sciences, or a related field.
- Have at least one year of experience providing administrative, logistical, financial, or operational support to development projects.
- Be fluent in both French and Arabic.
- Practical knowledge of English is preferred.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Previous experience with the United Nations, international organizations, or development projects is preferred.
