Opportunity description

The World Health Organization (WHO), through the United Nations Volunteers program, announces a national volunteering opportunity in Tunisia to work as a Digital Knowledge Management Officer for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.

This opportunity aims to support WHO’s meetings and travel systems by developing knowledge resources, preparing training materials, organizing documents, and improving the use of digital knowledge platforms.

The volunteer will work on UN premises in Tunisia and will contribute to facilitating the use of new systems by preparing guides, FAQs, training presentations, learning materials, and supporting users in understanding tools and processes in a simple and effective way.

Duties & responsibilities

  1. Develop, organize, and update user documentation for meetings and travel systems, such as guides, manuals, and FAQs.
  2. Ensure that knowledge content is clear, up to date, and easily accessible to users.
  3. Manage and improve digital knowledge platforms such as SharePoint and the intranet.
  4. Standardize documentation templates and methods, and promote best practices for knowledge sharing.
  5. Design and produce training materials such as videos, presentations, and e-learning modules.
  6. Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions and workshops for users.
  7. Review knowledge and training resources and identify gaps to improve content quality.
  8. Collect user feedback to improve training materials and documentation.
  9. Support the adoption of new systems and updates among users.
  10. Promote a learning culture and follow up on the completion of required trainings.

Eligibility criteria

  • The applicant must be between 18 and 60 years old.
  • The applicant must be a Tunisian citizen, legal resident in Tunisia, or have refugee status in the country of assignment.
  • The applicant must have relevant experience in information technology, computer science, education, knowledge management, training, or a similar field.
  • Applicants with a secondary education certificate must have at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicants with a bachelor’s degree must have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluency in French is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Working knowledge of Arabic is an additional advantage.
  • The applicant must have skills in technical writing, knowledge management, documentation, and training tools.
  • Knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Office, content management systems (CMS), website editors, and e-learning tools is required.
  • Experience in delivering online or in-person training is required.
  • The ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences is required.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills are required.
  • Previous experience with WHO or a United Nations agency is an additional advantage.
