Partially Funded Master Scholarships at Columbia University Journalism School

Columbia University is offering the Barbara London Lemann Scholarship for students who want to apply for the journalism school. The School awards about $5 million annually in scholarships for master’s-level students.  Many scholarships, including the Barbara London Lemann Scholarship, are open to all students who apply for and qualify for scholarship funding.

Barbara London Lemann Scholarship offers up to $30,000 for a student in the Master of Arts and Culture Concentration.

• Federal financial aid and the Journalism School Scholarship Aid Award notices are sent in mid‐March shortly after admission decision emails are posted.
• Generally, you will receive the money during the first two weeks of the semester. 
• The funds come in the form of a refund, which is based on any credit remaining after the money from your student loan has been applied to tuition, fees and other university charges. 
• The university will issue a refund either via direct deposit or a paper check.
