Eligibility criteria

  • This scholarship is aimed at non-EU/EEA/Switzerland citizens who are required to pay tuition fees and have applied through the university application system to one of the above programs before 15 January 2024 and have paid the registration fee until 1 February 2024.
  • Those accepted will be selected based on their academic achievements and study intent, which will be assessed by answering the following essay questions:
    • What prompted you to apply to this particular program and why did you choose Mid Sweden University? (This question refers to the study program, not the scholarship).
    • How do the program goals relate to your plans? How will you use the new skills and competencies you will gain through the grant?
  • You must be motivated and well-prepared to undertake your studies at Mid Sweden University. Applicants who have applied to Mid Sweden University as their priority will be given priority.
  • Your academic achievement will be assessed based on the supporting documents you provided when applying to Mid Sweden University through the university admission system. You do not have to send supporting documents again when applying for the scholarship.
  • Applicants will be notified of the results of the selection process via email no later than 30 April 2024. The email address stated on the application form will be used for all correspondence, so make sure it is correct.
  • You will have to respond to the scholarship offer within 5 days.
  • No funds will be disbursed to the scholarship holder. Instead, the scholarship amount will be deducted from the tuition fee invoice, which will be sent to the student. The student will also receive an email confirming tuition fee payment upon payment of the remaining 25%.
  • Mid-Sweden University will inform the Swedish Migration Agency about the payment of the tuition fees. Therefore, a certificate is not needed to apply for a residence permit.
  • You will be given a scholarship contract upon your arrival on campus.
  • The scholarship cannot be transferred to another study program at the university or to any other university.
  • You must confirm your nationality by showing your passport to the University International Relations Office before starting your studies.
  • You must start studies by the deadline set by the university, otherwise the scholarship will be withdrawn.
  • You must register for courses at the beginning of each semester. Failure to do so will result in the scholarship being withdrawn for the remaining part of the study.
  • You must complete at least 15 credit hours per semester.
  • All your questions regarding scholarships can be sent to the International Relations Office at Mid Sweden University, via the following email: Internationaloffice@miun.se
