Opportunity description
MPOWER announces a partially funded MPOWER refugee scholarship in USA and Canada. The MPOWER Refugee Scholarship supports students who are fleeing harsh conditions from around the world and coming to the U.S. or Canada for a better future. MPOWER’s Global Citizens Fund will grant three awards totaling US$5,000 to support eligible students from around the world.
Benefits
- The grand prize winner will receive $3,000 (awarded to one person).
- Honorary Prize winners will receive $1,000 (awarded to two persons).

Eligibility criteria
You must:
- Be accepted at or enrolled in a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school that MPOWER supports.
- Be an international student allowed to legally study in the U.S. or Canada, as applicable through one of the following:
- Be a refugee or asylee from any country (or pursue such status).
- Have Temporary Protected Status.
- Be a beneficiary of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) status.
- American and Canadian citizens/permanent residents and those with other immigration statuses are not eligible for this scholarship.
