Opportunity description

The Stanford Humanities Center at Stanford University in the United States has opened applications for the Mellon Fellowship of Scholars in the Humanities 2027–2028, a funded international postdoctoral fellowship designed for early-career scholars in the humanities.

The fellowship offers researchers the opportunity to develop their research, academic career, and teaching experience at Stanford. Fellows are affiliated with a humanities department or interdisciplinary program and receive office space and academic mentorship, while also participating in the activities and workshops of the Stanford Humanities Center.

Eligibility criteria

To apply, applicants generally must:

  • Have earned their PhD from a university other than Stanford University.
  • Have an academic specialization or research project that aligns with one of the fields open for the 2027 cycle.
  • Be able to teach and conduct academic work in English.
  • Be prepared to reside at Stanford throughout the academic year.
