Opportunity description

The Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP) in Brazil, in collaboration with the Offshore Technology Innovation Center (OTIC) and the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), is offering a postdoctoral research fellowship in circular economy and the decommissioning of oil and gas facilities.

The fellowship aims to develop a conceptual model for a circular economy business ecosystem and examine the key stakeholders, their roles, and the relationships and interactions among them

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  1. Hold a PhD in a field related to the project, obtained within the past seven years.
  2. Be available to work full-time on the research project.
  3. Have a strong record of scientific publications and demonstrate the ability to conduct independent research.
  4. Be proficient in English for reading, academic writing, and spoken communication.
  5. Have previous experience in planning, organizing, and conducting field research.
  6. Be proficient in qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools.
  7. Have knowledge of system dynamics and simulation software, such as Vensim.
  8. Be familiar with software programs such as NVivo, RStudio, Biblioshiny, UCINET, SmartPLS, and IBM SPSS.

Required Documents

  1. An academic résumé or CV for international applicants.
  2. A link to the applicant’s ORCID profile and scientific publications.
  3. A motivation letter in English of no more than 500 words.
  4. One letter of recommendation.
  5. A PhD certificate or an official document confirming the thesis defense or graduation.
  6. Proof of English proficiency, such as TOEFL, IELTS, or Cambridge certification, for applicants from non-English-speaking countries. Alternatively, applicants may submit documentation proving that they studied or received training for more than six months in an English-speaking country.
