The Purorrelato – Concurso de Microrrelatos 2026 is one of the most prominent literary competitions in the Spanish-speaking world, encouraging young writers and creatives to craft ultra-short stories (microrrelatos) that do not exceed the specified word limit. The contest is organized by Casa África with the aim of promoting Spanish literature and storytelling creativity among those interested in African and Spanish culture. Winners receive cash prizes, have their work published on the official platform, and gain international literary exposure.
Program Details
- Micro-stories should include elements related to Africa.
- Entries can be in Spanish, English, French, or Portuguese.
- The maximum length of each story is 1500 characters, including spaces, but excluding the title.
- The work submitted must be original and unpublished.

- 1st Prize: €750.

Eligibility criteria
- The story must be written in Spanish and should be original and unpublished.
