Opportunity description

UNICEF Algeria is offering a 6-week online volunteer opportunity to support the creation and design of a series of short videos for social media in celebration of UNICEF’s anniversary.

The volunteer will work with UNICEF’s Advocacy and Communication team to develop a creative concept and a consistent visual identity for a series of 6 short videos covering topics such as child rights, positive parenting, early childhood development, youth participation, and opportunities available to children and adolescents.

The assignment includes editing videos using materials, scripts, or footage provided by UNICEF and adapting them for social media platforms, while ensuring compliance with the organization’s visual identity and child rights protection messaging.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Propose a comprehensive creative concept for UNICEF’s short-video series.
  • Develop a consistent visual and storytelling style for the series.
  • Edit and produce 6 short videos using materials, scripts, or footage provided by UNICEF.
  • Optimize the videos for social media platforms in terms of dimensions, pacing, and duration.
  • Ensure that all videos align with UNICEF’s visual identity and messaging.
  • Simplify messages related to child rights, positive parenting, youth participation, and early childhood development.
  • Deliver a Concept Note outlining the creative approach for the series.
  • Deliver the final versions of the videos ready for publication.
  • Provide the editable project files to the UNICEF team.
  • Coordinate regularly with the Advocacy and Communication team to incorporate requested revisions and improve the content.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants should:

  • Have experience in video editing and production.
  • Have good knowledge of creating short-form videos for social media platforms.
  • Be proficient in at least one of the following tools:
    • Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Final Cut
    • DaVinci Resolve
    • CapCut
    • Or similar tools.
  • Have an interest in community engagement, advocacy, or social issues.
  • Have working knowledge of Arabic.
  • Have working knowledge of English.
  • Have working knowledge of French.
  • Be able to work remotely and collaborate with UNICEF’s communication team.
