Opportunity description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through its Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD), is offering an online volunteer opportunity for a Research Volunteer in Communications and Knowledge Management within the SDG AI Lab. The volunteer will support the preparation of concept notes and research proposals, develop knowledge and communication content, and contribute to outreach and dissemination activities related to artificial intelligence and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The role supports digital transformation, innovation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that advance sustainable development.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Contribute to the preparation and drafting of concept notes and project proposals.
  • Conduct research and gather, analyze, and synthesize information to support new initiatives and projects.
  • Develop content for newsletters, reports, and social media channels.
  • Translate complex technical topics into clear and accessible content for diverse audiences.
  • Support internal and external communication efforts of the SDG AI Lab.
  • Assist in the development of knowledge products, awareness materials, and communication resources.

Eligibility criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • One to two years of experience in communications, content development, research, or related areas.
  • Ability to prepare concept notes, reports, proposals, and professional documentation.
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable development, innovation, and artificial intelligence.
