Opportunity description

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through its Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD), is offering an online volunteer opportunity for a Research Volunteer supporting Community Engagement and Event Coordination within the SDG AI Lab. The volunteer will contribute to community outreach activities, coordinate with partners and stakeholders, and assist in organizing hackathons, innovation challenges, and events related to artificial intelligence and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Duties & responsibilities

  • Support community engagement activities and coordinate with partners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to building and strengthening networks with relevant organizations and communities.
  • Assist in organizing hackathons, innovation challenges, and related events.
  • Follow up with participants and help coordinate logistical aspects of events and activities.
  • Document activities and prepare post-event reports and summaries.
  • Support outreach, communication, and awareness-raising initiatives of the SDG AI Lab.

Eligibility criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Business Administration, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • One to two years of experience in event coordination, community engagement, program management, or related areas.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience working with partners, communities, youth initiatives, or stakeholder networks.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable development, innovation, and artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to work effectively in diverse and multicultural international teams.
