Opportunity description
The Royal Society's Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) scheme aims to increase knowledge and awareness in UK universities about cutting-edge industrial science and innovation. The program provides experienced industrial scientists and entrepreneurs the opportunity to spend one day a week at a university, developing a bespoke project to:
- Expose university staff and students to state-of-the-art industrial research.
- Offer support and expert advice to promote innovation and research translation.
- Boost confidence in business and entrepreneurship among staff and students.
- Provide career recognition and support professional development for award holders.
- Experience managing university-business collaborations and commercializing research.
- Experience in entrepreneurship, company formation, or investment.
- Interest or experience in training and mentoring.
Benefits
- Salary equivalent for 20% of working time at the host.
- Travel and project costs, including accommodation if needed.
