Creative Writing Ink is offering SaveAs Writers’ International Writing competition to writers of any nationality or age.
Benefits
- The Canterbury Christchurch Poetry Prize of:
- £200 is awarded to the poetry winner
- £100 for second place
- £50 for third.
- The Canterbury Festival Fiction Prize of:
- £200 will be awarded for the winning story
- £100 for second
- £50 for third.
Eligibility criteria
- Theme: This year is the 250th anniversary of J. M. W. Turner’s birth. To commemorate this, SaveAs Writers invite poems and stories on the theme of ‘Facing the Storm’.
- The theme of stormy seascapes can be freely interpreted, with or without reference to Turner’s life and art.
- Accepting poems of up to 60 lines in length.
- Accepting prose of up to 3500 words.
- Entries are judged anonymously. The author’s name and address should not appear on the poem or short story
itself. - Judges: Poems will be judged by Mara Adamitz Scrupe. Short stories will be judged by Victoria Grainger.
- Entry fee: For each poem, £4 or £10 for 3 entries. For each story, £5 or £12 for 3 entries.
