New Zealand Foreign Affairs & Trade announces to open the applications for Manaaki New Zealand Scholarship 2023. The purpose of this scholarship is to invest in the education of citizens from developing countries, enabling them to positively impact their country's development by sharing new skills and knowledge gained while on scholarship. Eligibility criteria
You must follow the following criteria:
- You must be 18 years old or older when you start your scholarship.
- Exception for Samoa: Applicants applying for the Samoa Foundation intake can be 17 years of age when they commence their scholarship.
- There is no upper age limit for applicants. However, applicants who are under 40 years of age are preferred.
- Successful scholarship applicants must meet both the academic entry requirements and the English language requirements determined by each educational institution.
- PhD scholarship applicants should look for and email suitable PhD supervisors at New Zealand universities.
- Only shortlisted applicants need English language test scores.
- Scholars are expected to contribute to their country’s social or economic development for at least two years after completing their scholarship study.
- Postgraduate scholarship applicants and applicants who finished high school more than 3 years ago, must have relevant work experience.
- Work experience can be paid, unpaid or voluntary, and must meet the following criteria:
- One year of full-time work experience (i.e. 30 hours or more per week), OR
- Two years of part-time work experience (i.e. up to 29 hours per week).

You will be evaluated based on a lot of criteria, which include:
- Strong academic ability.
- Commitment to the social and economic development of your country.
- Have high grades and communicate well.
- Have strong intellectual and reasoning skills.
- Choose courses that can help solve your country’s social and economic problems.
- Have been living in your home country for 2 years prior to applying for a scholarship.
