Opportunity description
The Siwar Al Hussein Volunteering Program is the King Hussein Cancer Foundation's volunteer program that allows individuals to contribute their time and effort to support the fight against cancer. The program's name, Siwar, symbolizes the unification of people in one cohesive circle to support our noble mission. Volunteers contribute to the Foundation and Center's success by completing a variety of tasks aimed at increasing awareness or providing direct patient support. Please note that there are no application or participation fees mentioned for this volunteer opportunity.
Duties & responsibilities
Support patient-related activities within the center, such as pushing wheelchairs and assisting visitors in finding clinics, pharmacies, and laboratories.
Participate in supporting activities like the summer camp.
Help with playroom initiatives to entertain and care for the children.
Perform office tasks at the King Hussein Cancer Foundation to prepare for different events and campaigns.
Engage in external activities aimed at raising awareness and fundraising, such as attending seminars, workshops, and distributing brochures.
Eligibility criteria
The volunteer must be at least 16 years old and not older than 60 years.
Applicants must successfully pass the selection process and personal interview.
For patient-related activities, the volunteer must be at least 18 years old and commit to a duration of not less than three months.
For the Summer Camp, volunteers must be at least 18 years old and have at least 100 prior volunteering hours working with children within the Siwar Al Hussein program.
