Competition in the Field of Innovation from the ITU Digital World 2021 in Switzerland

The ITU Digital World Awards invites all participants from all over the world to the competition in the Field of Innovation for 2021. The awards give to the most promising innovative tech solutions with real-world social impact. The SME Awards ​are an opportunity to recognize excellent innovative tech solutions, build resilience, and foster investment in tech SMEs in five categories:

1. Connectivity.
2. Smart cities, smart living.
3. E-health.
4. Digital finance.
5. EdTech.

If you are among the winners of this competition, you will get:

• UN recognition ​as an innovative Information and communications technology for development (ICT4D)solutions provider.
• Benefit from international visibility before, during, and after the event
• Network with peers, industry experts, mentors, and UN representatives
• Take part in the SME Programme of capacity building and skills workshops, and networking events.

You must approve the following terms:  

1. By entering the Awards, you accept the present Terms and Conditions.
2. The Awards are open to Participants identifying as a small or medium enterprise.
3. All entries to Awards must be submitted in English. 
4. All Participants will retain the intellectual property rights on the contents of their submissions. However, by entering the Awards, each Participant grants the organizer a limited, non-exclusive, global, two-year royalty-free right and license to use.
5.  By entering the Awards, Participants permit the Organizer to use their name, likeness, and/or photograph for marketing, promotional, and awareness purposes, at no cost for the organizer or remuneration for the Participant.
6. The Organizer is not responsible for lost, late, corrupted, mutilated, or misdirected submissions.
7. The winners will be required to provide updates on the progress of their winning solution over the course of the year up to and including ITU Digital World 2022. 
8.  No Participant is allowed to use the ITU or ITU Digital World logo or other branding elements on material that was produced by them, without the prior written permission of the organizer.

Please note:

1. The shortlisted Participants in the Awards will be notified by email at least a week in the advance of the Awards’ pitching sessions.
2. All decisions of the jury are final and without appeal.

Selection Process:

Your works will be judged based on the following substantial criteria:

• The quality of the solution.
•  Innovativeness.
• Business potential.
• Social impact potential.
