Winning Writers is inviting writers from all around the world to participate in the Tom Howard/Margaret Reid Poetry Contest.
Benefits
- Tom Howard Prize: $3,000 for a poem in any style or genre.
- Margaret Reid Prize: $3,000 for a poem that rhymes or has a traditional style.
- The top two winners will also receive two-year gift certificates from our co-sponsor, Duotrope (a $100 value).
- Honorable Mentions: 10 awards of $200 each (any style).
- Top 12 entries published online.
Eligibility criteria
- 250 lines maximum per poem.
- .No restriction on age of author.
- $20 per submission of 1-3 poems. Enter as many submissions as you wish.
- Entry is written in English.
- Entry is in .doc, .docx, .pdf, .odt, .rtf, or .txt format.
- Entry uses a standard font that is easy to read, such as Times New Roman.
- The documents submitted must not contain identifying information, such as: name or initials, email address, mailing address, phone number or links to my media account or other websites with identifying information.
