The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme – Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP/PAPP), has opened applications for an Economic Resilience Coordinator position based on-site in Ramallah, Palestine.
The opportunity is part of the MASARAT Economic Resilience Programme, which works to support and strengthen the resilience of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), develop value chains, improve access to markets, support employment and skills development, and contribute to building a more inclusive and resilient Palestinian economy.
The volunteer will serve as an operational link between programme management, partners, projects, and beneficiaries. The role will contribute to monitoring field implementation of activities, tracking results, supporting partners, analyzing challenges, documenting success stories and outcomes, and strengthening continuous learning and programme development.

Duties & responsibilities
The volunteer’s main responsibilities include:
- Maintaining continuous field communication with partners, projects, beneficiaries, and relevant stakeholders.
- Monitoring activities and implementation stages and identifying delays, risks, and challenges.
- Supporting partners in planning, beneficiary follow-up, reporting, and documentation.
- Conducting field visits, interviews, and result verification activities.
- Reviewing progress reports, data, and supporting documentation.
- Updating tools used to track implementation, beneficiaries, and results.
- Documenting changes in business practices, institutional capacities, and market relationships.
- Preparing recommendations to improve or adjust activities within the programme framework.
- Strengthening linkages between employment programmes, enterprise development, value chains, and the business environment.
- Preparing case studies, success stories, and learning materials.
- Providing regular updates to the Project Manager on implementation progress and field-level results.
- Preparing implementation summaries, meeting minutes, briefings, and presentations.
- Coordinating among implementing partners and following up on agreed actions.
- Identifying activities, results, and beneficiary stories suitable for communications and media coverage.
- Collaborating with UNDP/PAPP teams working in communications, results management, operations, and gender.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 18 and 60 years old.
- Be a Palestinian citizen, legal resident, or hold refugee status in the country of assignment.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields or a related discipline:
- Economic Development.
- Private Sector Development and SME Development.
- Livelihoods.
- Employment.
- Value Chain Development.
- Related development programmes.
- Have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Be fluent in Arabic.
- Be fluent in English.
- Hold a Category B driving license, as required by the vacancy announcement.
Practical experience in at least two of the following areas is preferred:
- Business development services for small and medium-sized enterprises.
- Value chain or economic sector development.
- Market access and trade.
- Business environment improvement.
- Employment and skills development.
- Innovation and digital transformation for businesses.
- Institutional capacity development.
- Women’s economic empowerment.
- Monitoring and evaluation of SME development programmes.
