The University of Bayreuth Centre of International Excellence Alexander von Humboldt” promotes excellent research at the University of Bayreuth (UBT) and advances the internationalisation of research and networking with the best universities worldwide. The BHC is offering Short Term Grants for the year 2024.
The Bayreuth Humboldt Centre (BHC) is dedicated to fostering academic exchange that transcends traditional boundaries. This includes bridging gaps between different academic disciplines, fostering collaboration between diverse cultures and countries, and encouraging interaction between established researchers and the next generation of scholars. The BHC provides a unique platform where intellectual cross-pollination can thrive, ensuring that knowledge and innovation are not confined by geographic, cultural, or disciplinary limits. Applicants to the BHC are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the University of Bayreuth’s focus areas and research strengths. This understanding will enable them to align their research proposals with the university’s strategic priorities, further enhancing the potential for impactful collaboration and academic growth. Through its initiatives, the BHC aims to create a vibrant, interdisciplinary academic community where innovative ideas can flourish and contribute to global scholarship.
Grants of Alexander von Humboldt
- Short Term Grants (intended for stays of about 1-3 weeks duration) include the reimbursement of travel expenses between the home institution and Bayreuth as well as accommodation costs in Bayreuth.
- The costs will be refunded up to a maximum of €3,500. Short Term Grants are available to researchers regardless of their field of research.
Eligibility for Alexander von Humboldt
- Open to individuals from abroad with challenging and innovative research projects of top academic quality through a highly competitive, strictly merit-based selection process. The all-important selection criteria are the academic excellence of both the applicant and the cooperative project.
- They view the diversity of awardees as an asset and are expressly committed to the goal of gender equality. Female scholars and anyone who can help make the research profile of the university more diverse are strongly encouraged to apply.
