UNV Volunteer Opportunity in Türkiye with a Monthly Living Allowance for Engineers 2026

The VILLUM FONDEN has opened applications for the VILLUM International Postdoc 2026, an international fellowship programme designed to support outstanding female researchers in the natural and technical sciences. The programme aims to help fellows build independent academic careers while gaining strong international research experience.

The fellowship enables selected researchers to carry out part of their postdoctoral project at a leading research institution outside Denmark, before returning to a Danish research institution to complete the project and further develop an independent academic profile.

The 2026 call is dedicated to women. Applications are not fully open to the public; instead, a limited number of candidates must be nominated by eligible Danish research institutions.

Eligible Fields

The programme supports research in:

• Natural sciences.
• Technical sciences.
• Physics and astronomy.
• Chemistry.
• Mathematics and statistics.
• Computer science and artificial intelligence.
• Engineering and technology.
• Materials science.
• Earth and environmental sciences.
• Energy.
• Interdisciplinary fields primarily rooted in the natural or technical sciences.

The fellowship includes:

• Funding typically ranging from DKK 1 million to DKK 3 million.
• Research project funding for up to three years.
• An international research period at an institution outside Denmark.
• A return phase at a Danish research institution to complete the final stage of the project.
• Coverage of the researcher’s salary and approved project expenses.
• Possible coverage of travel, relocation, and research-related operating costs.
• Opportunities to build collaborative networks with international researchers and institutions.
• Support in developing an independent research profile and progressing toward a long-term academic career.

The Construction Site Manager’s responsibilities include:

• Supervising the daily progress of construction work on site.
• Ensuring that all work is carried out according to the approved schedule and technical specifications.
• Monitoring the quality and quantity of completed work.
• Reporting any delays or deviations from the approved technical specifications.
• Preparing daily, weekly, and site-monitoring reports.
• Preparing meeting minutes, engineering instructions, variation orders, and handover documents.
• Producing progress, occupational health, and safety reports.
• Monitoring and updating construction schedules.
• Immediately reporting any issues affecting workflow or site safety.
• Collecting data on work progress and submitting recommendations to the responsible engineer.
• Supervising surveying activities and engineering quality-control work.
• Holding regular meetings with engineering and site-supervision teams.
• Coordinating between construction companies, supervision firms, and relevant project partners.
• Providing regular and up-to-date information on project activities.
• Supporting the timely implementation of the project in accordance with the required quality standards.
• Supervising the daily activities of contractors and engineers on site.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
