Opportunity description

UNFPA is offering a fully funded Volunteer Program Associate position in Kosti, Sudan, for a duration of 6 months. This assignment focuses on supporting Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) programs, engaging with local governments, and ensuring the delivery of high-impact results. The United Nations does not charge any application, processing, or training fees. The volunteer will receive a Monthly Volunteer Living allowance (VLA) of 1,597.25 USD, a Danger and Hardship Differential (DHD) of 575 USD, free medical and life insurance, and annual leave.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Provide quality technical support to UNFPA implementing partners in project planning, implementation, and monitoring of program activities.

  • Work with partners to design, plan, implement, and monitor programs related to quality SRH service delivery, EmONC, family planning, and management of gender-based violence.

  • Report on the progress of SRH projects in the targeted areas.

  • Contribute to effective knowledge management strategies and disseminate national guidelines and IEC materials.

  • Monitor SRH program and financial implementation by tracking activities, funds expended, and partner agreements.

  • Support the development of national capacities in SRH at the institutional level.

  • Participate in workshops and events to ensure SRHR issues are incorporated into national development plans.

Eligibility criteria

  • Candidate must be a national, legal resident, or hold refugee status in Sudan.

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Medicine, Health Sciences, or any relevant field.

  • 3 years of relevant experience in managing development projects.

  • Fluent in English and Arabic.

  • Excellent oral and written skills, including drafting, formulation, and reporting.

  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and adapt to a challenging environment.

  • Desirable: Valid national driver's license and ability to drive a manual gear 4x4.
