Kultur- und Initiativenhaus Greifswald e.V. offers a volunteering opportunity in Kutaisi, Georgia, with the organization Habitat for Equality, Achievements, and Development (HEAD). HEAD is dedicated to supporting people with disabilities and promoting inclusion, equality, and human rights. Volunteers will contribute to daily centers that primarily serve children with disabilities, as well as some adults, through recreational, educational, sports, and social activities. They will also support community awareness initiatives and advocacy efforts aimed at advancing the rights of people with disabilities.

Duties & responsibilities
- Support daily activities at HEAD centers for people with disabilities.
- Assist in organizing sports, recreational, and social activities.
- Participate in activities such as arts and crafts, music, excursions, and sports programs.
- Provide support to children and adults with disabilities during daily activities.
- Contribute to community awareness initiatives focused on inclusion and human rights.
- Support advocacy efforts that promote and protect the rights of people with disabilities.
- Have the opportunity to prepare and deliver language lessons, such as German or English.
- Work closely with the organization’s staff and other international volunteers in implementing activities and projects.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicants should be motivated, committed, and enthusiastic about volunteering.
- They should demonstrate openness, friendliness, flexibility, and a willingness to help others.
- Previous experience in social work is not required, although it is considered an advantage.
- Applicants should be willing to work with children and adults with disabilities.
- An interest in learning the Georgian language is considered a plus.
- Knowledge of Russian can be helpful but is not mandatory.
- Translation applications and tools may be used when needed.
- Team applications are welcomed and encouraged.
- The start date and duration of participation are flexible upon agreement, beginning from September 2026.
- Volunteers are preferably available for a period of 10 to 12 months.
