Opportunity description
UNICEF Morocco, through the United Nations Volunteers program, announces a national volunteering opportunity to work as an Applied Behavioral Science Officer in Rabat for 12 months, with the possibility of extension.
This opportunity aims to support the Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition Project in Morocco by applying behavioral science approaches to understand social and behavioral barriers, and by designing experiments and interventions that help improve access to health and nutrition services during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life.

Duties & responsibilities
- Support the Social Behavior Change Specialist in coordinating research activities and behavioral experiments.
- Contribute to designing and implementing behavioral experiments to address social and health-related challenges.
- Review research protocols, data collection tools, training materials, and intervention materials.
- Analyze behavioral findings and translate them into practical recommendations for programs.
- Document lessons learned and good practices from research and experimentation activities.
- Support capacity building in applied behavioral sciences and social behavior change.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and technical briefs.
- Support project follow-up, administrative tasks, and program-related activities for the Social Behavior Change section.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing with partners and stakeholders inside and outside UNICEF.

Eligibility criteria
- The applicant must be between 18 and 80 years old.
- The applicant must be a citizen, legal resident, or recognized refugee in Morocco.
- The applicant must have at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in one of the following fields:
- Behavioral Sciences.
- Psychology.
- Social Sciences.
- Public Health.
- Anthropology.
- Sociology.
- Economics.
- Development Studies.
- Communication for Development.
- Social and Behavioral Change.
- Any related field.
- The applicant must be fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
- The applicant must have experience in applied behavioral sciences, social behavior change, research, program support, monitoring and evaluation, or capacity building.
- The applicant must be able to prepare reports, document activities, coordinate tasks, and work within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in maternal and child health, nutrition, community health, or working with international organizations is an additional advantage.
