The Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest, in its 24th year, seeks the best humor poems. Participants submit one humor poem (published or unpublished), up to 250 lines. Serious poems are not accepted; humorous and creative submissions are welcome, including inspired gibberish.
This international contest is open to writers worldwide, excluding countries under U.S. government sanctions. This year’s judge is Jendi Reiter, assisted by Lauren Singer. AI-generated content is generally not accepted, but humorous AI-produced results may be considered with prior approval from the organizers.
Prizes:
- First Prize: \$2,000 + a two-year Duotrope gift certificate (\$100 value).
- Second Prize: \$500.
- Third Prize: \$250.
- Ten Honorable Mentions: \$100 each.
- Top 13 entries published online.
- No entry fee.
Submit your poem online between August 15, 2024, and April 1, 2025. Only one poem per submission is allowed. For AI-generated work, email for pre-approval before submitting.
