UNESCO opens applications for the second edition of the Youth for Peace: UNESCO Intercultural Leadership Programme 2026, a global leadership program targeting young leaders and activists in the fields of intercultural dialogue, peace, inclusion, and social change. The 2026 edition focuses on the theme “Human Connection and Dialogue in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” which means strengthening human connection and dialogue in the age of artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Fully participate in the preparatory training and interactive online workshops.
- Design and implement a community initiative related to the program’s theme.
- Use intercultural dialogue as a core methodology for the initiative.
- Implement the project over 6 months at the local or national level.
- Participate in mentoring, learning, and capacity-building sessions.
- Present the results of the initiative and lessons learned as part of the program activities.
- Contribute youth ideas and experiences to global discussions on peace and dialogue.

- Applicants must have the ability for self-reflection, collaborative learning, and dialogue across differences.
- Applicants must have the ability to create positive change in their community.
- Applicants must commit to full participation in all stages of the program.
- Applicants must be proficient in English, as it is the official language of the program and all applications and communication will be in English.
