The Sheikh Zayed Book Awardannounces the launch of its 18th Edition within its efforts to commemorate the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The Award, and its associated accolades, are presented annually to outstanding writers, intellectuals, and publishers, as well as young talent whose writing and translation in humanities objectively enriches Arab intellectual, cultural, literary, and social life. This year, the Award will be receiving submissions across 10 categories, and you will have a chance to win one of the prizes valued at 7,750,000 UAE dirhams.

Eligibility criteria
You should follow the following criteria:
- This award is open to those who have contributed to the development of thought and creativity in the Arab culture, whether creators, thinkers, or publishers, and the submitted works should achieve a high degree of originality and innovation, and represent a true addition to culture and human knowledge.
- The submitted work shouldn’t be previously awarded by an international/ prominent Prize or submitted to any other award at the time of submission.
- The participant must not be more than 40 years old in the Young Author category.
- Re-submission for the same work is accepted if the time condition is still valid. However, the application form should be filled out, and new copies of the work submitted.
- Candidates may submit a book in one category per award cycle.
- The work must be published in a book format and within the last two years.
- The book must be written in Arabic.
- The nominees can submit one book only each year.
- The submitted books must have the ISBN number to verify property rights.
- If there is a co-author or artist who took part in the production, their details should be included in the submission form, and their documents.

Please note: The winners are announced ahead of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, culminating in a prestigious ceremony every year.
About Sheikh Zayed Book Awards:
In recognition of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and his pioneering role in the unification, development and state-building and human development, it was decided to establish a scientific award entitled "Sheikh Zayed Book Award", to publishers and young people for their contributions in the fields of development, authorship and translation in the humanities which have a clear impact on the enrichment of cultural, literary and social life, according to scientific and objective criteria. This award was established with the support and sponsorship of the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi. With a total value of AED 7 million.
