Tashkeel is pleased to offer a workshop for young artists entitled; Image Making Alchemy which will run on 19 March 2023 with the artist Majd Alloush in collaboration with Vivi Zhu. It allows you to explore the practice of image-making and learn more about using drawings, photographs, and sketchbook imagery to create your transfer.

About Trainer:
- Majd Alloush
Majd Alloush is a Syrian artist whose work spans multiple disciplines including printmaking, sculpture, photography and moving image. His practice is situated at the intersection of traditional processes and innovative methodology. Majd holds a BFA from the University of Sharjah and is currently pursuing his MFA at NYU Abu Dhabi. His work has been part of exhibitions nationally and internationally including at Aisha Al Abbar Gallery, UAE Unlimited, Sharjah Art Museum, Imagine Science Film Festival, Antimatter [media art], Warehouse 421, Alserkal Avenue, Barjeel Art Foundation, among others.
- Vivi Zhu
Vivi Zhu is a Chinese-born award-winning documentary filmmaker, artist, and social entrepreneur whose interest lies in discovering and telling micro- cosmic stories that reflect bigger social-political pictures. Zhu’s interdisci- plinary work explores the symbiosis relationship between the environment and the body inspired by the emancipation of the performability of human experience. Her work playfully and subversively inverts the makeshift cultur- al identity through a practice-led research approach. Zhu has covered stories across Cuba, China, and the UAE. As a director, her documentaries have been broadcasted on NHK Japan, acqui-missioned by Al Jazeera Witness program. As an artist, her works have been exhibited at The 13th Shanghai Biennale, Bayt AlMamzar, etc.

- This workshop is open to 15 participants.
- Location: Tashkeel Nad Al Sheba.
- The Participation Fee is AED 475.00 (+VAT).
