About the organization
The idea of Al Multaqa Prize for Arabic Short Story emerged from the realization of the Forum that was founded in 2011 for the importance and the beauty of the Arabic short story art, and that in the last two decades it has been abandoned by writers, publishers and readers in the Arab world because of the superiority of the novel. In order to demonstrate the Forum’s interest in the short story art in a practical way, the idea of creating an Arab Kuwaiti international award was born. It aims at producing a creative Arab narrative and honoring writers and publishers.
