Elf School of the Arts

Elf School of the Arts is a non-profit arts organization and artist residency program located in Hayesville, North Carolina, United States, near the Appalachian Mountains and Lake Chatuge. The program provides the time, space, and resources that artists, writers, and creatives need to develop their work and projects in a calm and focused environment. The program is based in a historic elementary school building originally established in 1928, which was renovated between 2022 and 2024 and transformed into a space for artist residencies, events, and performances. The residency hosts only a limited number of artists at a time, creating an intimate environment that supports independent work, creative exchange, and collaboration among participants.
