About the organization

Settled in Morocco since 2009, the Montresso★ Art Foundation is a hybrid place that aims to support the creation and promote the diversity of fields of the current artistic research. Through its artistic residence Jardin Rouge, its art space and off-site actions, the Montresso★ Art Foundation is committed alongside the artists to promote a multiple approach that transcends borders and standards. The Montresso★ Art Foundation contributes to the artistic development of Marrakesh alongside with the local cultural actors in order to encourage encounters between the different pictorial and intellectual approaches. Created by the Montresso★ Art Foundation, the artistic residency Jardin Rouge supports and accompanies for nearly ten years the research of international artists. Eight studios allow to welcome nearly thirty artists per cultural season, in a preserved environment, conducive to experimentation and dialogue. Focused on the theme of territories, Jardin Rouge is a creative laboratory in which artists benefit from research time but also help with visibility. The artist residency Jardin Rouge is a meeting place between art and its amateurs. Presentations of projects are regularly organized within the “Salle des casques“. The artists exchange, discuss with the public, answer interviews with journalists, decipher their works with art critics.
