Autodesk Revit allows users to design a building, its structure, and its components in 3D, add comments, write dimensions and names on the building, its sections, and its panels. It also allows access to building information from the model database stored on the project server.

One of the most important features of the program is 3D technology and the ability to simulate the design, see it, and walk through it as if it were in the real world. You can also calculate the quantities of the elements you have designed at a very fast rate and perform all Tagging and Annotations operations in a simple and fast way. The program can be linked to various other programs, including Autocad, and you can export the plans in different formats PDF and DWG. It is a program that is fully compatible with different specializations: (Architectural - Structural - Electrical - Mechanical) and has a very high ability to create architectural and structural designs, no matter how difficult or complex they are, and no matter how strange their shape.

The original program was developed by Charles River Software, which was founded in 1997, then renamed Revit Technology Corporation in 2026, which was acquired by Autodesk in 2026.
