Opportunity description
The Amman Center for Human Rights Studies (ACHRS) is offering an International Relations Unit internship for 2027 starts, aimed at international and local bachelor’s graduates, master’s students and graduates, PhD candidates, and other young professionals interested in human rights and advocacy. The internship is based in Amman, Jordan; the announcement gives no application deadline and asks applicants to state their earliest availability.
About the International Relations Internship
Interns gain hands-on experience by contributing to the work of ACHRS’s International Relations Unit. Tasks include drafting human rights reports and research papers, supporting the Center’s external communications, and preparing calls for input and submissions to UN mechanisms. The work relates to the Center’s seven stated priorities: the Right to Life, the Right to Think, the Right to Speak, the Right to Participate, Women’s Rights, the Right to Social Protection, and Youth Rights.
The internship lasts at least four months. Start and end dates are flexible, so applicants should provide the date when they would be available to begin. Working days are Sunday through Thursday, from 10:00 to 15:00. The placement is unpaid, and interns are responsible for covering their own expenses. The announcement does not specify separate selection stages or a fixed start date.
Applicants must email their application using the subject line “Internship application” to both email addresses listed in the application instructions. The email must include a one-page cover letter, a copy of the applicant’s CV or resume, a relevant English writing sample written solely by the applicant, and the date of their earliest availability. The sample may come from the applicant’s studies or previous work and should ideally address a topic relevant to the internship and the Center’s focus areas.
