Opportunity description

UNICEF is offering a consultancy opportunity to work with three government ministries in Algeria to adapt and implement the Adolescent Toolkit, train trainers, and oversee field implementation and follow-up activities. The consultant will contribute to strengthening adolescents’ life skills and citizenship competencies by providing technical support, building the capacity of national professionals, developing training materials, and ensuring that programs are implemented according to best educational and social practices.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Adapt and implement the Adolescent Toolkit to fit the local context.
  • Design and deliver Training of Trainers (ToT) programs.
  • Supervise training activities and provide field-level monitoring and follow-up.
  • Develop training materials, methodological guides, and assessment tools.
  • Support partner ministries in implementing life skills and citizenship education programs.
  • Prepare technical reports and document lessons learned and best practices.
  • Promote the integration of child protection, gender equality, and inclusion principles within training activities.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to partner institutions.

Eligibility criteria

  • Degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, Adolescent Development, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in capacity building, training of trainers, or adolescent development programs.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs for public sector professionals or individuals working with youth.
  • Experience in developing training materials and assessment tools.
  • Good understanding of life skills education and non-formal learning approaches.
  • Strong facilitation, training, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in French is required; Arabic is considered a strong asset, and English is an added advantage.
