GEMS FirstPoint School – The Villa in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is seeking an A-Level Chemistry Teacher to join its academic team starting in January 2027.
The school is looking for an outstanding teacher with experience teaching Chemistry within the British curriculum, including A-Level, who can deliver engaging, high-quality learning experiences that help students develop a deep understanding of the subject and prepare for university-level study.

Duties & responsibilities
The Chemistry Teacher’s responsibilities include:
- Teaching Chemistry in accordance with the British curriculum.
- Delivering Chemistry courses to A-Level students.
- Planning and preparing effective and engaging lessons.
- Providing high-quality scientific content suitable for students with different abilities.
- Using teaching methods that help students develop analytical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Monitoring students’ academic progress and providing appropriate support.
- Contributing to an inclusive learning environment that supports students of different levels and abilities.
- Participating in school activities and events.
- Collaborating with teachers and school leadership to support the development of the educational process.
- Taking on additional leadership responsibilities where appropriate.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- A recognized teaching qualification such as:
- PGCE.
- QTS.
- Or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching Chemistry within the British curriculum.
- Experience teaching A-Level Chemistry.
- Strong and in-depth knowledge of Chemistry.
- The ability to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons.
- A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to motivate students with different abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to participate in school activities and wider school life.
