Opportunity description

UNICEF is offering a job opportunity for a Child Protection Officer – Justice for Children (NO-2) based in East Jerusalem, State of Palestine, under a Fixed Term Appointment.

The officer will work within the Child Protection Section, with a particular focus on Justice for Children (J4C) programs, supporting the implementation of child protection, humanitarian response, early recovery, and child-related legal services.

The role includes providing technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the program cycle, from planning and implementation to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Support the development and planning of child protection programs.

  • Contribute to program management, implementation monitoring, and achievement of results.

  • Provide technical and operational support for the implementation of child protection programs and projects.

  • Support Justice for Children (J4C) interventions in the State of Palestine.

  • Contribute to humanitarian response and early recovery programs related to child protection and legal services.

  • Monitor and evaluate progress and prepare relevant reports.

  • Build and strengthen partnerships with relevant institutions and stakeholders.

  • Support capacity building, knowledge management, and innovation activities.

  • Provide technical guidance and administrative support to help ensure sustainable results in protecting children’s rights.

Eligibility criteria

  • Hold a university degree in one of the following fields:

    • Law

    • International Development

    • Human Rights

    • Psychology

    • Sociology

    • International Law

    • Or another related social science field

  • Have at least 2 years of professional experience in planning and management in areas related to child protection.

  • Have experience or knowledge in:

    • Child protection

    • Program management

    • Partnership development

    • Capacity building

    • Monitoring and evaluation

    • Community engagement

  • Be fluent in both Arabic and English.
