UNICEF in Algeria announces a consultancy opportunity for the position of Senior National Education Consultant – School Management and Early Warning System (EWS) Pilot in Tindouf Province, under the Education Section, for a period of 9 months.

This consultancy aims to support the design, piloting, and implementation of an integrated school management model and Early Warning System (EWS) in primary education within the Sahrawi refugee camps. The national consultant will serve as the main field liaison with the senior international consultant to ensure that the technical design is connected to practical implementation inside schools.

This opportunity is suitable for national experts in Algeria who have strong experience in the education sector, school management, data collection, field coordination, training, and working in humanitarian or refugee contexts.

• Support the design and implementation of an integrated school management model and Early Warning System (EWS).
• Serve as the main field-based partner for the senior international consultant.
• Ensure that the technical design of the system is linked to actual implementation inside schools.
• Provide contextual expertise on the education situation in the Sahrawi refugee camps.
• Coordinate fieldwork with schools and relevant stakeholders.
• Support data collection and field research related to school management and school dropout.
• Contribute to training relevant teams and facilitating workshops or training sessions.
• Support coordination between education authorities and local partners.
• Assist in monitoring the implementation of the pilot model and documenting the results.
• Prepare technical inputs and reports on implementation progress, challenges, and lessons learned.
• Comply with UNICEF standards related to child protection and sensitive data.

• Applicants must be national experts, as this opportunity is open to national consultants only.
• Have a master’s degree in education, social sciences, sociology of education, or a related field.
• Have at least 5 years of experience in the education sector.
• Have practical experience at the school level.
• Have experience in facilitating training sessions and field coordination.
• Have good knowledge of school management and education systems.
• Have skills in data collection and field research.
• Be able to coordinate with stakeholders and relevant entities.
• Have knowledge of the Sahrawi refugee context.
• Proficiency in Arabic is required.
• A strong working level of English is required.
• Knowledge of Hassaniya is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an advantage.
• Experience with Early Warning Systems (EWS) or school dropout prevention programs is considered an advantage.
• Familiarity with data collection and analysis tools such as Excel and Kobo is considered an advantage.
