Opportunity description

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has opened applications for the position of Gateways to Public Digital Learning Initiative Coordination Consultant under a 12-month consultancy contract. The role is home-based, with travel required when necessary, while the administrative duty station is Amman, Jordan.

This consultancy is part of the Gateways to Public Digital Learning Initiative, led by UNICEF in collaboration with UNESCO. The initiative aims to support governments in designing, managing, and developing safe, equitable, and high-quality public digital learning platforms.

The consultant will coordinate the initiative’s activities, manage knowledge, prepare technical studies and reports, support participating countries, and organize study visits and peer-learning workshops. The role also involves coordinating with UNICEF and UNESCO offices and international partners, contributing to the implementation of UNICEF’s Digital Education Strategy 2025–2030.

Duties & responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the implementation of the Gateways to Public Digital Learning Initiative.
  • Supporting participating countries and providing technical assistance.
  • Managing the initiative’s dashboard and knowledge hub.
  • Preparing technical reports, case studies, and knowledge products.
  • Collecting and analyzing evidence and research and translating findings into reports and communication materials.
  • Monitoring partnerships and preparing donor reports.
  • Organizing meetings, workshops, and study visits.
  • Coordinating with UNICEF, UNESCO, government ministries, and technical partners.
  • Developing knowledge content to support digital learning platforms.
  • Contributing to stronger digital education policies and the digital transformation of education.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Hold a master’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Education
    • International development
    • Public policy
    • Social sciences
    • Digital transformation
    • Technology for development
    • Learning sciences
    • Any other relevant field
  • Have at least five years of experience in areas such as:
    • Education
    • Digital learning
    • International development
    • Digital transformation in the public sector
    • Knowledge management
    • Project coordination
  • Have experience coordinating multi-partner initiatives.
  • Have experience preparing technical reports, presentations, and case studies.
  • Have experience preparing donor reports and managing partnerships.
  • Be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Be proficient in written and spoken English.
