The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is offering a job opportunity in Türkiye under the project Promoting Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Labour Market Integration, which aims to strengthen formal employment opportunities and support the social and economic integration of refugees, migrants, and members of host communities in Türkiye.
This opportunity is suitable for professionals with experience in project implementation and support, data management, monitoring, administrative coordination, reporting, and working with partners and government institutions. The selected candidate will work within an IOM project implemented in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Labour and Social Security, the Social Security Institution, and the Presidency of Migration Management.
Duties & responsibilities
- Assist in implementing project activities and monitoring their progress.
- Collect, compile, summarize, analyze, and present data and information related to project topics.
- Monitor the project budget, verify the availability of funds, obtain the necessary approvals, and update financial information.
- Serve as a focal point for administrative coordination related to project implementation.
- Communicate with internal units and external entities to obtain approvals and follow up on administrative procedures.
- Prepare periodic reports on project implementation status, identify gaps or shortcomings, and propose corrective actions.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, reports, presentations, statistical tables, and other project-related materials.
- Respond to complex inquiries and requests for information.
- Create and maintain project files and records.
- Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and conferences related to the project.
- Assist in coordinating with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and donors.
- Monitor the performance of implementing partners and report cases of non-compliance to the supervisor.
- Provide guidance or training to new or less experienced staff.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants may apply through one of the following pathways:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field, with 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Or hold a high school diploma with 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Have experience in coordination and communication with government entities, national or international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
- Have experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, or vulnerable populations.
- Previous experience with international humanitarian organizations, government institutions, or NGOs in a multicultural environment is considered an asset.
- Have good knowledge of migration-related issues relevant to IOM’s work.
- Have knowledge of United Nations programmes and bilateral donors.
- Be familiar with financial rules and procedures.
- Be proficient in spoken and written English and Turkish.
