Opportunity description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is accepting applications for a job opportunity in Türkiye under the Enhancing Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Labour Market Integration project, which focuses on supporting the sustainable and inclusive integration of target groups into the labor market.

The selected candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Coordinator in Ankara and will contribute to implementing and monitoring project activities, providing administrative coordination, monitoring the budget, preparing reports and documentation, and organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions. The role also involves coordination with government authorities, international organizations, United Nations agencies, and other partners.

This opportunity is suitable for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields, with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.

Duties & responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
  • Collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting project-related data and information.
  • Monitoring the budget, verifying the availability of funds, and obtaining the required approvals.
  • Updating information related to budgets and expenditures.
  • Serving as a focal point for administrative coordination related to project implementation.
  • Coordinating with internal units and external stakeholders.
  • Preparing progress reports, identifying gaps or shortcomings, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Drafting correspondence, memoranda, reports, and presentations.
  • Preparing charts, statistical tables, and other project-related documentation.
  • Responding to complex inquiries and requests.
  • Establishing and maintaining records and files.
  • Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Participating in meetings and conferences related to the project.
  • Coordinating with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, international and non-governmental organizations, and donors.
  • Assisting in monitoring the performance of implementing partners and reporting cases of non-compliance.
  • Providing guidance and training to new or less experienced staff members.
  • Performing any other related duties as required.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field.
  • Have at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Have experience coordinating with government authorities, national or international institutions, United Nations agencies, or non-governmental organizations.
  • Have experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of human trafficking, or other vulnerable groups.
  • Have good knowledge of migration, displacement, project management, and donor-funded programmes.
  • Have knowledge of financial systems, budgeting, and compliance requirements.
  • Be proficient in Turkish and English, both spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is considered an advantage.
  • Possess strong skills in analysis, organization, problem-solving, report writing, and stakeholder communication.
