The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has opened applications for a Programme Officer (Hayah Karima) – NO-2 position based in Cairo, Egypt, within the Hayah Karima programme.
The role focuses on supporting the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the EU for Hayah Karima programme, a joint initiative between UNICEF, WHO, and ILO in cooperation with the Government of Egypt. The programme aims to improve quality of life in rural communities affected by multidimensional poverty, particularly in the areas of health, social protection, essential services, and support for vulnerable groups.
The selected candidate will coordinate activities among partners, monitor workplans, budgets, and results, support reporting, manage relationships with government entities, United Nations agencies, and partners, and help ensure that programme implementation complies with donor requirements.

Duties & responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Coordinating internally between UNICEF teams and partners involved in the programme.
- Following up on contracts and formal agreements related to the project.
- Organizing consultations with government entities, partners, and stakeholders.
- Supporting partnerships and field implementation.
- Preparing and monitoring workplans.
- Tracking results, indicators, and risks.
- Monitoring the project budget and financial requirements.
- Supporting communication activities, knowledge management, and programme visibility.
- Preparing and coordinating project reports.
- Coordinating with ILO, WHO, government entities, and other partners to ensure consistent programme implementation.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must hold a university degree in one of the following fields:
- Economics.
- Public Policy.
- Social Sciences.
- International Relations.
- Political Science.
- Development Studies.
- Public Administration.
- Public Health.
- Or another relevant technical field.
Applicants must also have:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in project coordination or management.
- Preferably experience in:
- Development programmes.
- Humanitarian work.
- Government programmes.
- Skills and experience in:
- Project Coordination.
- Stakeholder Engagement.
- Partnership Management.
- Budget Monitoring.
- Report Writing.
