The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is accepting applications for the position of Project Associate (AVR Case Management) in Ankara, Türkiye, under the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme.
The programme focuses on supporting migrants who are unable or unwilling to remain in host or transit countries and wish to return voluntarily to their countries of origin. It provides the necessary assistance to ensure that return takes place in a safe, orderly, and humane manner, while also supporting appropriate reintegration. IOM works in cooperation with Turkish authorities, non-governmental organizations, and diplomatic missions to strengthen voluntary return and reintegration systems and procedures.
The selected candidate will support beneficiary case management, case registration and follow-up, counselling and service provision, referral tracking, coordination with partners and government authorities, and analysis of beneficiary-related data, in addition to supporting the project’s administrative and financial activities.

Duties & responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of the project’s daily activities, as well as its administrative and financial processes.
- Providing support to migrants benefiting from Assisted Voluntary Return programmes.
- Assisting with beneficiary outreach, case registration, and follow-up.
- Using the MiMOSA system and other designated tools for case registration and tracking.
- Providing counselling and services to beneficiaries.
- Supporting projects under the Migrant Protection Unit.
- Contributing to the organization of meetings, workshops, and conferences.
- Coordinating with national authorities and partners.
- Preparing reports related to referrals, beneficiaries, and services provided.
- Following up on case management processes in accordance with IOM procedures and AVRR programme standards.
- Collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and presenting project-related data and information.
- Identifying challenges and gaps in referral and support mechanisms and reporting them to the team.
- Contributing to the development of new tools and guidance to support the identification, referral, and assistance of beneficiaries.
- Coordinating with Türkiye’s Presidency of Migration Management (PMM), NGOs, and other partners.
- Participating in training sessions and workshops related to beneficiary protection and assistance.
- Supporting the assessment of the effectiveness of assistance provided.
- Coordinating with IOM’s procurement, finance, and movement operations teams to ensure successful case implementation.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants may qualify through one of the following pathways:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Or hold a school/high school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Applicants are also preferably expected to have:
- Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of human trafficking, or other vulnerable groups.
- Experience in Case Management.
- Experience coordinating with government authorities and national or international institutions.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: protection, counter-trafficking, child protection, return and reintegration, gender-based violence, or humanitarian affairs.
- Experience in community-based protection and assistance services.
- Willingness and ability to travel when required.
Applicants must also:
- Be proficient in Turkish and English.
- Be proficient in French or Spanish, both spoken and written.
- Possess good skills in organization, working under pressure, stakeholder coordination, analysis, and maintaining the confidentiality of beneficiary information.
