Opportunity description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is recruiting a National Programme Data and Reporting Officer in Erbil, Iraq.

The selected candidate will work with the IOM office in Erbil to support the organization’s humanitarian, development, and recovery programs, with a focus on program data collection, data cleaning and analysis, performance indicator tracking, reporting, and the development of dashboards and information management tools.

Duties & responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining systems for collecting, compiling, and cleaning program data.
  • Coordinating with program teams and field offices to ensure data accuracy and timely submission.
  • Managing and updating program databases and information management systems.
  • Tracking project and program performance indicators and identifying delays and challenges.
  • Contributing to institutional reports and United Nations reporting requirements.
  • Analyzing data and preparing summaries, trends, and beneficiary statistics.
  • Developing dashboards and data visualization products to track performance indicators.
  • Training program and field teams on data collection tools and the use of Kobo and IMS.
  • Applying data protection and confidentiality standards.
  • Supporting assessments and information management initiatives.
  • Regularly updating and sharing program databases and dashboards.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must have:

  • Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Monitoring and Evaluation.
    • Statistics.
    • Information Management.
    • Data Science.
    • Social Sciences.
    • Or a related field.

Or

  • A Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields listed above, along with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in program data management, analysis, and reporting within a humanitarian or development context.
  • Experience coordinating data collection across multiple projects or field locations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Experience with data analysis or visualization tools such as Power BI and SQL.
  • Experience using mobile data collection tools such as Kobo.
  • Knowledge of Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks and results-based reporting.
  • Previous experience with IOM or another United Nations agency is considered an advantage.
  • Previous experience in Iraq is considered an advantage.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of Arabic and Kurdish is considered an advantage.
  • Strong report-writing, research, data analysis, and multicultural teamwork skills.
  • The position is classified as National Officer – NO-A, so eligibility is subject to the requirements for national positions in Iraq, in addition to any applicable residency or work authorization requirements.
