The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is accepting applications for the position of Senior Project Associate at its office in Tunisia, within the Migration and Development Unit and the Regular Pathways programmes. Duties & responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of project activities.
- Collecting, summarizing, analyzing, and presenting project-related information and data.
- Monitoring budget implementation and proposing adjustments when necessary.
- Coordinating administrative procedures related to project implementation with different units and partners.
- Preparing project progress reports, identifying gaps, and recommending corrective actions.
- Preparing correspondence, reports, briefing notes, charts, and statistical tables.
- Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, and contributing to the preparation of training materials.
- Participating in relevant meetings and conferences.
- Coordinating with local authorities, government entities, United Nations agencies, international and non-governmental organizations, and donors.
- Monitoring the work of implementing partners and reporting cases of non-compliance.
- Contributing to the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), concept notes, and new projects.
- Providing guidance and training, and assisting in coordinating and monitoring the work of other team members.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants may qualify through one of the following pathways:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field, with 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Hold a high school diploma with 6 years of relevant professional experience.
Required Experience
Applicants are preferably expected to have:
- Experience working and coordinating with government authorities, national and international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
- Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of human trafficking, and vulnerable groups.
- Previous experience with international humanitarian organizations, government institutions, or NGOs in a multicultural environment is considered an asset.
