Opportunity description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has opened applications for the position of Supply Chain Associate in Gaziantep, Türkiye, under a one-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension, at the G-5 level.

The selected candidate will work within the supply chain team to support the management of procurement, logistics, supplier management, assets and warehousing, transportation, and fleet management, ensuring that the goods and services required by IOM programs and offices are provided in accordance with established policies and procedures.

This opportunity is suitable for professionals in business administration, accounting, logistics, procurement, and supply chain management who have practical experience working with suppliers and managing operational processes.

Duties & responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Receiving and reviewing purchase requests and ensuring that all required information is complete.
  • Supporting the implementation of higher-value and more complex procurement activities.
  • Preparing tender documents and requests for quotations, and analyzing submitted bids.
  • Contributing to supplier evaluations and coordinating the preparation of purchase orders and contracts.
  • Following up on purchase requests and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Reviewing supplier invoices and preparing payment requests in coordination with the finance department.
  • Maintaining and updating electronic and paper records related to the procurement cycle.
  • Conducting market research and identifying new suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitoring contracts, renewal dates, office supplies, and services.
  • Providing guidance to staff on procurement policies and procedures.
  • Supporting the management of assets, property, warehouses, insurance, maintenance, and transportation.
  • Coordinating vehicle fleet operations and monitoring fleet records and maintenance.
  • Providing training and guidance to junior staff in supply chain management.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants may qualify with one of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in:

    • Business Administration.
    • Accounting.
    • Logistics.
    • Supply Chain Management.
    • Or a related field,
  • along with 3 years of relevant professional experience.

Or

  • A high school diploma with 5 years of relevant professional experience.

A professional certification in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management is considered an additional advantage.

Required Experience and Skills

Applicants are preferably expected to have:

  • Experience in procurement and logistics.
  • Experience working with suppliers and service providers.
  • Experience in asset management.
  • Knowledge of IOM or United Nations procurement and logistics procedures is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience with an international organization is an advantage.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • The ability to work with national and international institutions.
  • The ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to assess and organize the resources required to meet the organization’s needs.
