The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is accepting applications for the position of Senior Programme Support Associate in Amman, Jordan, within the IOM Jordan office, under a short-term contract of up to 9 months.
The Programme Support Unit (PSU) at IOM Jordan works with different units across the mission to support project development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting. The unit also coordinates with IOM headquarters, regional offices, external stakeholders, and donors to help ensure the quality and effectiveness of programmes.
Duties & responsibilities
- Support the Programme Support Unit in conducting research and drafting project proposals.
- Assist in preparing for meetings with project managers and donors.
- Enter required information into IOM’s project management system, PRIMA, to support project development processes.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of information tools used to monitor service delivery and identify gaps.
- Prepare and update reports, maps, spreadsheets, and other monitoring tools.
- Support the monitoring of project budgets and help ensure timely implementation.
- Assist in collecting, processing, analyzing, and documenting project data for reporting purposes.
- Contribute to developing a structured approach to data management, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating communication and advocacy materials, including talking points, briefing notes, newsletters, presentations, and key messages.
- Support the review of cross-cutting programme issues, including gender, children, environment, and accountability to affected populations.
- Ensure these considerations are integrated into programme development and implementation.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants may qualify through one of the following pathways:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, or a related field, with 4 years of relevant professional experience.
- Or hold a high school diploma with 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- When applying through the bachelor’s degree pathway, the degree must be from an accredited academic institution.
- Have experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection, accountability, or programme support within a government entity, NGO, or international organization.
- Be familiar with community feedback mechanisms and accountability procedures.
- Experience supporting Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) activities is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with UN agencies, international NGOs, or NGOs is considered an advantage.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Have strong research, writing, and reporting skills.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be able to work effectively in multicultural and multinational teams.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
