The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is offering a job opportunity for the position of ICT Associate – Head of ICT Unit in Baghdad, Iraq, under a National Personnel Service Agreement – NPSA-7 contract for 6 months on a full-time basis.
The selected candidate will be responsible for leading and coordinating Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services for common premises, including managing infrastructure, networks, and cybersecurity, supervising the ICT team, overseeing technical support services and technology projects, and ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and standards.

Duties & responsibilities
Lead the ICT team and coordinate the implementation of technical activities and services in line with UNDP requirements and standards.
Oversee the integration of IT systems and assets received from UNAMI.
Manage the decommissioning or repurposing of IT infrastructure and ensure proper asset documentation.
Prepare ICT budgets, procurement forecasts, and asset management reports.
Manage technical support services, the Helpdesk, networks, and end-user support.
Supervise ICT staff and contractors, monitor their performance, and assign tasks.
Coordinate with service providers and vendors regarding procurement, maintenance, and technical contracts.
Manage and monitor network infrastructure to ensure its security, stability, and reliability.
Strengthen cybersecurity measures, monitor firewalls, and respond to security incidents.
Ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery plans are in place and regularly tested.
Support IT projects and prepare technical solutions and proposals.
Prepare reports, plans, correspondence, and documentation related to technical tasks, services, and infrastructure.
Monitor telecommunications service costs, payments, and expenses, and prepare related budget reports.
Eligibility criteria
A high school diploma with formal training in IT systems, business software, or web-based applications.
Preference is given to candidates holding a bachelor’s degree in:
Information Technology.
Information Systems.
Information Management.
Computer Science.
Software Development.
Or an equivalent field.
At least 7 years of relevant ICT experience with a high school diploma, or 4 years with a bachelor’s degree.
Experience in developing and implementing IT strategies and in managing and supervising ICT services and teams.
Experience with hardware, software, telecommunications systems, and Windows-based applications.
Experience in web design and the development of web-based desktop applications.
Experience in user-centered design and conducting user research and testing.
