Opportunity description

Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL Officer) to support monitoring, evaluation, and data analysis activities for humanitarian projects in rural Damascus. The role includes conducting field visits, collecting and analyzing data, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring the quality of humanitarian programme implementation according to organizational standards. The officer will also coordinate with different programme teams to improve performance and enhance the quality of services provided to affected communities.

Duties & responsibilities

  • Conduct field visits to monitor humanitarian activities.
  • Collect and analyze project and programme data.
  • Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports.
  • Support programme teams in designing data collection tools.
  • Ensure the quality of field data and information.
  • Support accountability and learning activities within projects.
  • Contribute to improving the quality of humanitarian programmes.
  • Work directly with field teams and local partners.

Eligibility criteria

  • Experience in Monitoring & Evaluation or humanitarian work.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and report preparation.
  • Ability to conduct fieldwork and travel within operational areas.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic.
  • Good skills in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.
