Opportunity description
UNICEF has opened applications for a consultancy opportunity titled Route-Based Approach Consultant within the Global Programme Division – Child Protection Section, to work remotely for 11 months, with the assignment linked to UNICEF’s office in Amman, Jordan.
The consultancy aims to support UNICEF’s Migration and Displacement Hub in coordinating and implementing the Route-Based Approach (RBA) program, which seeks to strengthen the protection of migrant and displaced children, their families, and host communities along migration routes through cross-border collaboration and technical support.
Duties & responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the coordination and implementation of the Route-Based Approach program.
- Monitoring activities and deliverables related to the program.
- Coordinating with UNICEF regional offices, country offices, and headquarters.
- Working with institutions and international partners involved in the program.
- Preparing technical and programmatic reports and outputs.
- Contributing to the analysis of information and data related to migration and displacement.
- Documenting lessons learned, practices, and experiences resulting from program implementation.
- Supporting UNICEF in discussions related to regional and international policies.
- Contributing to the development of sustainable, rights-based solutions to protect children on the move.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants must:
- Hold an advanced university degree, such as a Master’s degree or equivalent, in one of the following fields:
- Migration Studies.
- Refugee Studies.
- Political Science.
- Economics.
- Development Studies.
- Or a related field.
- Have at least 5 years of progressively responsible professional experience in coordinating programs related to migration and displacement.
- Have previous experience working within complex partnerships involving the United Nations or multilateral institutions.
- Possess strong analytical and writing skills.
- Be fluent in English.
