The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is offering a remote consultancy opportunity with its Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in Cairo. The consultant will support the development of a regional analysis on the relationship between climate change and human mobility across North African countries.
The assignment involves reviewing and analyzing policies, legal frameworks, and research related to migration, climate change, and disaster risk management, as well as producing reports and policy recommendations to support the development of regional programmes and evidence-based policymaking.

Duties & responsibilities
- Develop the analytical framework and methodology for the project.
- Collect, review, and analyze data and research related to climate change and migration in North Africa.
- Map relevant policies, legal frameworks, and institutional arrangements.
- Produce a comprehensive regional report including key findings, analysis, and recommendations.
- Prepare a policy brief and presentation summarizing the main results and policy implications.
- Coordinate with IOM offices and relevant stakeholders across the region.
Eligibility criteria
- Master’s degree or higher in Migration Studies, Public Policy, Climate Change, Development Studies, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in policy analysis or research related to migration, climate change, or development.
- Experience preparing regional or multi-country analytical reports.
- Knowledge of United Nations frameworks such as the UNSDCF and Common Country Analysis (CCA).
- Previous experience with the United Nations or the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is considered a strong asset.
