China Hardware Products International Design Competition 2021

China Hardware Product Design is offering an international design competition for designers from dozens of colleges and universities, design companies as well as independent designers from more than 20 countries and regions around the world. In order to improve innovative design ability of hardware and promote hardware product development in China. This year, the 15th Competition specially focus on smart lock products that have been launched on the market within 3 years , and opens to all enterprises, institutions and individuals.

Categories of Competition:

Concept Group

• Concept Group open to all enterprises, colleges, institutions and individuals.
• If participating in groups, each group of designers should not exceed 3 people

1. Feijian Smart Cup / Pot Design
2. Yibo School Furniture Design
3. Qunsheng Air Purifier Design
4. JiaTu Sports Car Design

Products Group

• Products Group open to all enterprises, colleges, institutions and individuals.
• Entries should have been or will be launched on the market within 3 years (launched after May 2018)
• Entries must be free of intellectual property disputes, if there’s patent accepted or authorized, need to provide certificates
• Entries must have not won other industrial design competition awards

Judging Criteria:

Concept Group

1. Degree Of Innovation(30%).
2. Forward Looking(20%).
3. Functionality(20%).
4. Process feasibility(20%).
5. Ecological compatibility(10%).

Products Group

1. Degree Of Innovation(30%).
2. Functionality(30%).
3. Economy(20%).
4. Responsibility (20%).
5. Patents(Plus 10%).

Dates:

• Competition notice: May 1st, 2021
• Poster distribution, media propaganda: May, 2021~ October, 2021
• The submission deadline: October 15th, 2021
• Shortlist Announced: Early-November, 2021
• Final Judge: End November, 2021

Concept Group: Total ¥600,000

• Golden prize: ¥50,000 + Certificate for 4 winners
• Silver prize: ¥20,000 + Certificate for 8 winners
• Bronze prize: ¥10,000 + Certificate for 12 winners
• Excellent prize: ¥3,500 + Certificate for 20 winners

Products Group: Total ¥260,000

• Golden prize: ¥100,000 + Certificate for 1 winner
• Silver prize: ¥50,000 + Certificate for 2 winners
• Bronze prize: ¥20,000 + Certificate for 4 winners

1. All entrants must be sure that their entry is entirely their own work; No multiple submission ; Entries which are not in accordance with the rules will be disqualified.
2. The entry layout is composed by the following contents: category of competition, more than two main views of the product, design instruction, title of the entry (there should be NO name of participants in the entry layout).
3. Format of the entry: JPG file, A2 (420mm*594mm), 200dpi.
4. Only one layout is needed for one entry (Number of entries are not limited).
5. Unlimited representation skills as long as the ideas are clearly showed.

The Product Group shall additionally provide:

1. Product video that can clearly show the characteristics of the product’s design, functions, materials, also the complete life cycle of the product. The video should not be less than 50 seconds, mp4 file.
